On September 5, 2024, a delegation from the Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development visited the Palazzo Borghese, where the Sino-Italian Design Exchange Center office is located. for an inspection and exchange visit.
Distinguished guests attending the meeting included Ren Haitao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Wang Qiang, Director of the Urban Management Bureau of the same department; Qi Liqiang, Director of the Liaison Service Station for Construction Enterprises from Shandong Province; Zhao Yuangang, President of the Shandong Provincial Housing and Urban Development Research Institute; and Chen Feng, Director of the Heze City Urban Management Bureau. Also present was Cosimo Savio, President of Italy's Marchio Storico Group.
Secretary Ren Haitao introduced the economic development and urban construction achievements of Shandong Province. He emphasized the significant cooperation potential between Shandong and Italy in multiple fields, particularly in culture. Ren mentioned that Shandong seeks to engage in greater interaction with Italy, especially regarding experience-sharing in heritage preservation and urban renewal, with a particular focus on ancient building protection. Additionally, he extended a warm invitation to Italian businesses to invest in Shandong, participating in urban construction, cultural and creative projects, and driving bilateral cooperation to a higher level.

Wang Qun, Chief Operating Officer of the Sino-Italian Design Exchange Center and head of DoBe Group's Italy Center, provided a detailed introduction to the background, development trajectory, and outstanding achievements of the Sino-Italian Design Exchange Center. She also expressed the Center’s eagerness to strengthen collaboration with Shandong both domestically and in Italy.
Director Qi Liqiang stated in his speech that the Sino-Italian Design Exchange Center has played an important role as a bridge in promoting cultural and business cooperation between China and Italy. Shandong Province has vast potential in promoting architectural cultural exchanges and economic collaboration. He expressed hope that this visit would further deepen the cooperation between Shandong and Italian enterprises, creating more opportunities for exchanges and fostering practical cooperation and mutual development in these fields.
Cosimo Savio, President of the Marchio Storico Group, delivered a keynote speech, elaborating on the mission and vision of his company. He emphasized the Group’s commitment to preserving and passing down the craftsmanship traditions of Tuscany and their efforts to integrate Italian design production and manufacturing. By fostering international partnerships, especially with Chinese enterprises, the Group aims to promote the global recognition of craftsmanship while achieving mutual success in both commercial and cultural realms.
The attendees engaged in extensive discussions on topics like cross-border business cooperation and industrial upgrading, expressing their hopes for future collaboration in a broader range of sectors. Together, they seek to drive the international development of businesses in Florence and Shandong Province.
