Domitilla Biondi's personal online exhibition "From Art to Interior" is organized by the DoBe Group (Stock Exchange Symbol 300947) and the Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence, District 4 of the Municipality of Florence, Shanghai Promotion Center for City of Design, and the Shanghai International Culture Association, opens on November 5th, 2021 at 12:00 Italian time.
In this exhibition, the Artist Domitilla Biondi presents a selection of representative artworks realized with the technique of paper carving. This peculiar technique, unique and innovative, has been titled by the artist “paper poetry” and consists in letting the matter express its inner Beauty by producing magistral miniature cuts into the surface, so that the light can shape, thanks to the shadows, three-dimensionality which let's move the soul and appears as visual poetry for the viewer. The Artist is, recently, investigating the possibilities that her compositions offer other than simply being enjoyed by a single collector, by pushing her audience to collectivity: with the Mission, as wider as she can, to "bring Beauty into people’s heart" she recently brought her aesthetic into the field of Interior Design, providing stunning and original visual solutions that are, themselves, an intent of Change of the global panorama.

Domitilla Biondi studied Graphic Design and worked as Digital Designer for more than 25 years, running her own studio with blue-chip Italian clients and receiving awards and recognition for this. But in 2011 something inside her began to fade and she felt the need for a change. Her analog artistic path begun parallel to that to become a sound healer, in 2013, because they are both the same way to channel harmonic frequencies into the matter. For this dual path, Domitilla decided, in June 2016, to quit definitely her previous career, because “Beauty — she says — is a special energy that cannot be mastered through computers”. Since then, she is studying to apply her aesthetic to porcelain, she started a performing art project that matches past (ancient knowledge) with the present (technology) and, recently, she investigates the opportunities offered by the field of Interior Design, following the chances that arrive and literally shape her career, as both artist and designer. Domitilla Biondi's aesthetic is delicate but vibrant at the same time: she perfectly matches the elegance of oriental minimalistic art with the powerful energy of the spiral and shell, typical of her western Italian roots. The inspiration from Nature and Sound is always present and emerges visibly through details like flowers and mandalas. Being created into a state of deep connection with her Inner Self, every artwork is uniquely inspired and unrepeatable, so to catch the moment, like every practice of participative meditation teaches.

What are the motivations for your art?
My art is a form of participative meditation: when I connect deep into my Inner Self, Silence invades Me, filling it with gratitude. Once reached this State of Being, I let inspiration move my body, and the Artist manifests through these magnificent miniatures, which I’m the first to witness while they appear. Every work is uniquely inspired and there are no copies, neither a pre-production study (for the abstracts): everything take place in real-time by, simply, carving the paper with a surgical blade – cut ‘n lift, cut ‘n lift, for hours – white on white, basically.

What studies have you done to arrive to this form of art?
None of the academic ones. I learn from my body's knowledge and everyday life experience. I practiced a lot of consciousness in the Body, experimenting human energetic field and how this influences what we do and behave. Once, I asked myself: “what if I stop controlling but simply let flow?” … From that, my technique flourished and so my mission has begun, because it’s a matter of state of being. I can receive Beauty from everything – like Nature, sound, paper, but also a person – everything that gives me a good vibe and sensation contributes to putting me in that particular state of gratitude/openness that permits me to receive inspiration and let it work as an offering. What happened naturally, is that my previous background and interests slowly shaped the area of my action and, so, nothing from the past has been lost but, simply, transformed and integrated into the new.

What makes your technique so ephemeral and delicate?
I reckon that the secret of the Beauty of my miniatures is that they are the visual manifestation of harmonic pattern, mathematics and fractals, visible logarithmic spirals on the matter… and carving is only another manner to “play” harmony, as I do with my therapeutic sound healing tools like, for instance, the singing bowls. Harmonic frequencies work directly to the heart so, receiving them in a visual form is the same that receiving them as audible. But the peculiarity of my artworks remains the illumination: depending on the slant of light that the paper receives, the perception of the whiteness changes completely! Magic.

Do you want to better explain the application of your Art into the field of Interior Design?
It started by chance with Area Environment that asked me to license some artworks to produce wallpaper. After a while, I understood the potential of this opportunity that could push my mission — of elevating the vibrations of humanity, in order to help this poor planet's evolution — by acting on a large scale and multitude of people, instead of concentrating to single private collectors only. Then — apparently all photographs of my art are perceived like if they were very big instead of tiny miniatures — I started to receive a lot of requests asking about wall covering solutions. So I recalled my background as a digital designer and it ended up into this new product of 3D panels - which I called BELLISSIMO™ and I am about to launch at the beginning of 2022 - that offers the experience of real three-dimensional walls, applying on them panels that are realized with latest technology’s solutions — and with very much love of a wonderful team of people working with Me behind it. The BELLISSIMO™ panels are custom adaptive on sizes, depth, colors and everything is 100% Italian, from design to production. I want it to keep the taste of a unique handcrafted artwork instead of a repetitive industrial tiling, to make it to be the richness of my “contemporary artisanal” product. I wish I can help people to feel better by only looking, every day, at my patterns full of beauty. And So It Is.
La mostra è finita, grazie per la visione!
